Research Analyst for our Dry Bulk Research team

Are you analytical, data-driven, and curious about the world of shipping and international trade? Would you enjoy turning data into insights that help others make better decisions? Does being part of a team that raises the bar together while having fun sound like you?

We are looking for a Research Analyst - a curious, detail-oriented, and data-focused professional with a passion for understanding global trade dynamics. If you have an interest in shipping and enjoy working with data to uncover trends and opportunities, come join our team as we continue our quest to deliver market-leading insights to clients around the world.

We offer:

At MB Shipbrokers, you will become part of a globally recognised shipbroking company with over a century of experience, a strong international presence, and commitment to delivering excellence for our clients. In addition, you will become part of our broader research and advisory team consisting of experienced shipping professionals specialised in finance, statistics, data modelling, energy transition and trade.

Despite the busy nature of shipping, we recognise the importance of life outside of work and are committed to promoting balance and fostering a sense of community among our employees. Through weekly workout sessions, access to padel courts, and occasional social events, we provide opportunities for our team to stay active and build camaraderie.

Our Copenhagen office is ideally located near Østerport Station, with easy access to the city and the sea. We also have our own canteen, serving freshly prepared food every day.

Key responsibilities:

As a Research Analyst, you will join the team responsible for our research into the Dry Bulk markets. In this role, you will help provide new and valuable market insights to our clients and Shipbrokers by supporting their understanding of a complex market.

To accomplish this, you will contribute to strengthening our sector knowledge and market outlook. More specifically, you will be involved in:

· Maintaining and developing our supply and demand forecast models together with our Data & Analytics team

· Improving and optimising data flow processes

· Mapping major demand drivers within Dry Bulk Shipping

· Preparing regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly market reports and forecasts

· Writing and further developing our market reports portfolio

· Developing client and topic specific studies and reports

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a committed, independent, and data-driven colleague who is highly organised, analytically minded, and preferably has sector-specific experience. You have an improvement mindset and look forward to developing the depth of our research products - both what we do and how we deliver it - together with our team. Moreover, we imagine that you:

· Have 1-3 years of work experience, preferably from the shipping or energy industry

· Are familiar with forecast modelling, data collection and analysis

· Hold a degree in macroeconomics, international trade or finance

· Possess strong written communication skills

· Have a high proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

· Experience with VBA, SQL and Power BI is a plus, but not a must

· Are fluent in spoken and written English

All in all, you will thrive in this role because you naturally turn numbers and market knowledge into sharp, data-driven insights that are communicated clearly through your analysis and reports.
